Data Controller

Daniel Getaneh Hatland is the data controller for the processing of personal data on this website. Privacy-related enquiries can be directed to:

Email: danielghatland@outlook.com

What data do we collect?

We only collect personal data that you voluntarily provide through our contact forms:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Organisation
  • Preferred date for keynote
  • Free-text message

We do not automatically collect personal data beyond what is described under "Cookies and consent".

Purpose and legal basis

The personal data you provide via the contact form is processed in order to:

  • Respond to your enquiry
  • Evaluate and plan keynote engagements
  • Follow up on booking requests

The legal basis for processing is consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by submitting the form, as well as legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in order to respond to enquiries.

Retention and deletion

Personal data from the contact form is retained only as long as necessary to respond to the enquiry and, where applicable, carry out an engagement. Data is deleted once the purpose is fulfilled, unless we are required to retain it under applicable legislation (e.g. accounting regulations).

Sharing of data

We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be shared with:

  • Talerlisten — if the booking is facilitated through their platform
  • Email provider — for receiving and storing enquiries

Cookies and consent

This website uses cookies. On your first visit, you will be asked to choose which categories of cookies you wish to accept. You can change your preferences at any time via the consent banner.

We distinguish between the following categories:

  • Necessary — required for the website to function and cannot be disabled. These do not store personal data.
  • Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the website, so we can improve content and user experience. Data is anonymised where possible.
  • Marketing — used to display relevant advertisements and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns across platforms.

Our consent solution is compatible with Google Consent Mode v2, which ensures that Google services respect your consent choices. Without your consent, no analytics or marketing cookies will be set.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, depending on your consent choices:

  • Google Analytics — for analysing website traffic and user behaviour. Data may be transferred to Google's servers in the USA. Legal basis: consent. See Google's privacy policy
  • Google Ads — for displaying and measuring advertising campaigns. May set cookies for conversion tracking and remarketing. Legal basis: consent.
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel — for measuring advertising campaigns and remarketing on Meta platforms. Legal basis: consent. See Meta's privacy policy
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag — for measuring advertising campaigns and remarketing on LinkedIn. Legal basis: consent. See LinkedIn's privacy policy
  • Google Fonts — for loading typefaces. Google may receive your IP address in connection with this. Categorised as necessary.

Transfer to third countries

Some of the third-party services mentioned above may involve the transfer of personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA, including the USA. Such transfers are carried out on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — request to see what data we hold about you
  • Rectification — require that inaccurate data be corrected
  • Erasure — require that data be deleted
  • Restriction — require restricted processing
  • Data portability — receive data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest

To exercise your rights, contact us at danielghatland@outlook.com.

Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe that our processing of personal data does not comply with what we have described, or that we otherwise breach privacy legislation, you may lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).

This privacy policy may be updated as needed. Any changes will be published on this page.
